I’m into outdoor travel, like hikes, road trips, and the occasional higher-altitude day, and I wanted something truly portable: under 5 pounds, easy to throw in a bag, and not something that needs a bunch of upkeep. I’ve done a fair number of 3,000 m peaks, and I actually felt worse on Huayna Potosi (~3,000 m). At first, I bought a disposable oxygen bottle, but it contains very little oxygen and runs out in minutes—so it didn’t feel very practical for real use.
